Agreement
By creating an account or using Binder ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by Pinefall Studios ("we", "our", "us"). If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
The Service
Binder is a homeschool management platform that helps families plan lessons, track attendance, generate transcripts, and manage their educational records. We provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- The accuracy of the information you provide
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.
Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you create in Binder — lessons, narrations, records, uploads, and any other data. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the Service on your behalf. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.
Plans & Billing
Binder offers free and paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods
- We may change pricing with 30 days' notice via email
AI Features
Binder offers optional AI-powered features (lesson generation, narration feedback, etc.) for eligible plans. When you use these features:
- Relevant content is processed by our AI provider (currently OpenAI)
- AI-generated content is provided as a helpful suggestion, not professional educational advice
- You are responsible for reviewing and approving any AI-generated content before use
- AI features can be disabled at any time in your account settings
Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Limitation of Liability
Binder is a record-keeping and planning tool. We are not a school, accrediting body, or legal authority. You are responsible for ensuring your homeschool complies with your state's laws and requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pinefall Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of records, or compliance issues.
Availability & Data
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We perform regular backups but recommend you periodically export your data. In the event we discontinue the Service, we will provide at least 90 days' notice and the ability to export all your data.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
